Meet Dr. David Sampson
In January 2000, while the world braced for Y2K, Dr. David Sampson and his family were preparing for a different kind of transition—moving from Northwest Indiana to Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, where he joined the pastoral staff of Parkway Baptist Church. Just a few years later, in October 2003, Dr. Sampson was called to serve as the Senior Pastor. Since then, he has faithfully led Parkway Baptist to be a church “On Mission with God,” impacting lives both locally and globally.
For over 35 years, Dr. Sampson has demonstrated unwavering dedication to shepherding the church and serving the broader community. His influence reaches beyond the pulpit—he is a published author of four books and the composer of several gospel songs. In addition to his pastoral ministry, he serves as an adjunct professor at Temple Baptist Theological Seminary of Brewton-Parker College, equipping the next generation of ministry leaders.
Dr. Sampson holds a Bachelor of Theology, a Master of Pastoral Theology, and a Doctor of Ministry from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. He also earned a Doctorate in Theology from Andersonville Theological Seminary in Camilla, Georgia.
Since August 17, 1991, Dr. Sampson has been joyfully married to his wife, Melissa. Together, they have raised three wonderful children and are now enjoying the blessing of grandchildren.
